Guardians of Stormbow
The goblins all have a common heritage, that of Bloodheart, the ravenous, pulsing stone at the center of Orgeth Vale. However, the goblins have changed and evolved over time, their allegiances constantly shifting as new goblin chiefs seize power. Universally, the goblins consider their greatest strength to be their numbers. One is slain, two more seem to spring up in the wake of the fallen. The most powerful tribes fight amongst themselves while the lesser tribes build power and strike at the heels of their superiors, biding time until they can ascend.
Nevertheless, four tribes seem perennial, the names and values passed down tribe to tribe, chief to chief. There is the Tribe of the Iron Claw, a tribe that favors brute force, raw power to destroy foes. Only the biggest and strongest are allowed in this tribe, the weaker are killed, often eaten by the stronger. Next is the Fire Lash Tribe, a tribe that rewards the cruelty of its members. They praise inventive torture, and are propelled by the screams of their victims. There is the Trickster Tribe, a clan which promotes cunning and cleverness. They defeat their enemies with intricate traps and out-and-out lies. Their children are trained with clever games, designed to challenge the mind and bend youth towards mischief. Finally, there is the Unseen Tribe. Little can be said about them, other that they remain hidden whenever possible, waiting in the wings until the other tribes finish battle.
